22 August 2009 ...we had number 1 and 2 spots on the Internet Radio chart Jamwave for Blues category .. '(I Know) Its Over ' made number 1 knocking 'You Gave Me The Blues' off the top spot !!!

The next Roy Orbison show is September 2009 which now gives me time to get the 'You Gave Me The Blues' album completed.

As part of the BBC's live transmission of Tosca from the
Royal Opera House London we entertained a great crowd on
'The Beach' in Birmingham which was transmitted live to the
big screen

June 27th 2007 - Recording of 'You Gave Me The Blues' has been completed

June 27th 2007 marked the end of a long journey in recording the album 'You Gave Me The Blues'.

Next task is the mix which is hoped to be completed by July 2008

We were priveliged to have Becky Shakespeare guest on the album with some superb backing vocals

RAIN STOPS PLAY !!

The planned live gig in Chamberlain Square on Thursday 31 May 2007 had to be cancelled due to awful weather as it just wasn't safe to play with all the electrics - there was actually a thuinderstorm !!

theKAB play original blues influenced rock n roll mixed with haunting piano based ballads. The 3 piece band is fronted ny Kevin Ashcroft on Vocals / Guitars / keyboards, Pete Taylor on bass and Tony Smith on drums. Kevin writes the music for the band who have released their debut album on Defamation Records called 'You Gave Me The Blues' which contains 11 original tracks. Kevin writes songs of lost love and heartache but also redresses the balance with up tempo rock n roll. Kevins haunting guitar style gives the band their unique sound and it is refreshing to hear the guitar played with long sustained notes with feeling to get your attention without resorting to 'fast as you can play it' guitar solos which seems to be the norm these days.
theKAB have played live on BBC Radio WM across the West Midlands as well as playing a live set for the BBC prior to a live broadcast of Tosca from the Roy al Opera House screened in Chamberlain Square. theKAB have also played live for the BBC in The Mailbox Birmingham and have also been on a a mini tour of Hamburg Germany.
